Hi Kendall,
That was a great picture of you and your Honduran sweetheart (3 year old girl I fitted with glasses). I will attach some photos from my trip to Jamaica.
Your equipment worked flawlessly for the entire week. I definitely think I need to have the 3000 pairs in inventory that you suggested to be able to fit more people. I did run into many instances with no matches in my inventory. Luckily, in the case of adults with low hyperopia, we just used stronger reading glasses. In the case of the kids with low myopia-I was able to find a suitable pair, or I am sending about
four pairs of glasses back soon with rx's that I just could not fit.
We ended up checking around 350 patients during 5 days of clinics. Most of those days we had to turn people away just to be able to get packed up to head back to the hotel. There is a great need for eyecare in the developing world, and your system of software mated to the Retinomax is serving this population in a very high tech manner in what are areas of the world where healthcare is lucky to be of 1940's vintage clinics, and equipment. That was my impression of the areas that we served in Jamaica. However, most of the people I found to be very nice, and happy in their surroundings. Maybe, we could learn a lesson from them about lowering our stress. I do know that I would not have been nearly as successful as I was if it wasn't for Kendall Optometry Ministries equipment. I would also urge others to use your equipment as it truly is "user-friendly", and the layman can be taught to use it in a very short period of time. Once again, thank you for allowing me to use the equipment, and helping people of Jamaica to see better to read their bibles, and to improve their circumstances.
Clifford
PS: Somehow, all of my sweethearts seem to always be elderly. One of
the photos is of the lady who is 100. Another is of my appox. -6.00
patient. She was so happy to get glasses.
