Peru, 2024
Below is a message from the team leader. They had trouble getting the equipment through Peru customs.
Well, since we were not able to use the eyeglass equipment this trip, obviously, our impact was limited. But, praise the Lord, we had a few hundred reading glasses and were still able to have an eye clinic! One of our medical campaign sites was a church in a community in the outskirts of Lima, Peru. The pastor's mother came to get eyeglasses. She came with a downcast attitude, like she had not had a good day. We found a pair of glasses in our inventory that matched exactly what she needed. When she put the glasses on, and suddenly was able to read the words in front of her, a huge smile burst across her face! Her whole countenance changed! She thanked us many times and gave each team member a huge hug! Reading would no longer be a strain and cause her headaches like it had in the past because now she had reading glasses. She had been given the gift of sight! And for the rest of the day, the smile never left her face. We are so grateful to work with Kendall Vision Ministry who provides the equipment and opportunity to offer an eye clinic on our medical mission trips. Thank you for all you do to provide this amazing resource!
I am sending several pictures of the people who received eyeglasses. The lady in pink standing by the ladder is the one from the above impact story.
