The equipment we provide requires AC power.   It will run on 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 hz.   However, some teams go to locations where there is none. Here is how to solve that problem.

Even if power is absent we suggest to teams that they get a portable inverter which provides between 400 and 500 watts of 110VAC power.  Here is a link which describes it:   Go to Amazon.com and enter:
Ampeak 400W Power Inverter DC 12V to 110V AC Car Inverter with 3.1A Dual USB Converter
You can see for a bit over $30 you can solve this problem.   This device is very small and light also.  Our kit only requires 120Watts of power.  Just bring this inverter along with an extension cord, connect it to the battery on the vehicle which brought you into the field and you have what you need.  This inverter will shut down before the battery on the car gets too low to start the vehicle.  However; just to be safe we suggest you bring jumper cables.
Another alternative is to get this portable generator from Honda.  Again go to Amazon.com and enter:
                Honda EU1000i Inverter Generator, Super Quiet, Eco-Throttle, 1000 Watts/8.3 Amps @ 120v (Red)
It will run 6-9 hours or more without needing fuel.  Keep in mind that the airlines don't want it on the plane if it has fuel in it so remove the fuel before taking it on the plane.
