The dental clinic was the lease busy and we took the time, offered and shared the Good News with every patient. I had almost 100 patients that sat in my chair accept Jesus into their life. One hundred per cent of all my patients were given the opportunity to hear what Christians believe and 100% of them wanted to hear. The Holy Spirit convicted their hearts and allowed me to lead every one of them to Christian  salvation through Jesus Christ. It was a very exiting and rewarding time.</div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <B>. . . . </B></div> <div> When I gave him our 30 page scripture booklet he hung his head and shook it no. My translator said he was sad because he could not read it because his eyes were bad. I immediately thought I will send him to the eye clinic and maybe they can fit him with glasses, but it was late in the day and the eye clinic waiting line was so long I knew he would never get seen. Using the</div> <div> one day of eye training I had received a couple of weeks earlier from Holland Kendall at his Kendall Optometry Ministry course I got the reading glasses chart with various size lettering on it. I pointed to the largest print but he said he could not see it very clear. So I went to our glasses supply and got a very strong pair of reading glasses as suggested by the eye chart.</div> <div> I will always remember his expression when I put the glasses on him. His face lit up like a Christmas tree and he started smiling from ear to ear. He could read clearly the fine print on the bottom of the reading chart. He hugged me and thanked me over and over and would not stop shaking my hand. When he left he went outside to a window and while wearing his new glasses he waved and smiled at me every time I looked up for about 15 minutes. I am sure he was very happy but for me it was also a rewarding, memorable, life changing experience.</div> <bR> <div> <A HREF="http://kendall-optometry-ministry.com/documents/myanmar-mission-2006.pdf" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://kendall-optometry-ministry.com/do"><U><B>Here</B></U></A> is a link to the entire document.  It is <I><B><U>WONDERFUL</U></B></I> reading.</div> <bR> <div> Health Teams international has been able to equipment provided by Kendall Optometry Ministry to bring many people to the Lord.</div> <div> <A HREF="id2.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Teams Supported"><U><B>Back to Teams list. </B></U></A><B> </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Second Burma team:    </B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="id26_l.htm#team_2_pictures" TARGET="TRLX_Left" TITLE="Burma 2006"><U><B>(Go to team 2 pictures)</B></U></A></FONT></div> <bR> <div> From: Dimples0815@aol.com</div> <div> Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2006 6:08 PM</div> <div> To: hollandkendall@peoplepc.com</div> <div> Cc: STOCKPKR4U@aol.com</div> <div> Subject: Myanmar II 2006</div> <bR> <div>      I found out my husband sent you some photos of me using the autorefractor on our recent mission.  At first I was frustrated to be "just fitting glasses", since I'm used to functioning as a nurse, but I soon found out there was no "just" about it.  We met some students who were in dire need of help to continue their studies in an area that makes no allowance for handicaps.  A few people actually had other needs that they had interpreted as vision problems, such as sinusitis and orthostatic hypotension and diabetes.  I met a farmer whose limited distance vision hindered his ability to plant straight rows.  I met several teachers with presbyopia who were finding their jobs harder than they used to be, struggling and worrying.</div> <div>      The first time I discovered what the glasses meant to people was when one of the waitresses in our hotel came up shyly to thank me in person for fitting her mother for eyeglasses in the distant village clinic.  But my favorite patient was an older lady in a small village who already had a pair of glasses from many years ago that were lopsided, covering only one eye.  I couldn't help her with the changes in her vision because they turned out to be related to cataracts.  I explained through the translator what cataracts were and that they required surgery, which we were not equipped to do. (Although the surgery is technically available in Yangon, it's very hard to obtain without bribe money to get on the schedule.) I offered to fix the crooked frames of her glasses, but she declined, saying she liked them that way!!  (They fit one eye's needs better than the other.)  What I did have for her was a huge pair of goggle sunglasses that fit right over her crooked glasses.  She looked like one wild grandma!  On top of her profuse thanks, she walked all the way home and  back to the clinic to bring us a dozen eggs from her chickens, since she had no money.  I don't know if she realized how touched we all were by her gesture.</div> <div>      This was at the same clinic where we experienced "The Miracle of the Autorefractor".  That was where we discovered that one case had been somehow locked with the combination, leaving us without an eye clinic, the one with higher demand than dental or medical.  Of course we didn't know the number, and had no way to call or email and find out.  After trying a few simple things like 1-2-3 we said a quick discouraged prayer.  Just then my 16-year-old assistant called out "9-7-4"....and it worked!!  Now I know that that wasn't even the correct combination, but it worked anyway....somehow, mysteriously.... amazingly.</div> <div>      The other miracle didn't happen for us.  At the same hotel we met a group of missionaries from Australia and New Zealand, all teaching at a Christian university.  The one man in the group "just happened" to talk to one of our group, and "just happened" to mention a woman's broken sunglasses, which turned out to be a hindrance in the intense sun of the area.  My husband, nearby, "just happened" to overhear, and mentioned that we had a repair kit with us.  He brought me the glasses, but although I've worn glasses since kindergarten I'd never actually FIXED a pair.  Just the size of the tiny screws was intimidating.  They weren't wearable anyway, so I could safely do some trial-and-error learning.  And I did it!  When I ran up to the teachers' rooms the sunglasses owner was amazed.  They had prayed about it earlier, but never really imagined that such a small need would be met, and by such a series of "coincidences".  It's very humbling to be used in someone else's answered prayer.</div> <div>      Overall we had a great experience helping people and sharing the love of Christ.  We helped introduce the Message to people who had no idea who Christians were or what they believed.</div> <div>                Many thanks for making the tools available----Mikki Shull</div> <bR> <div> <B>A third team is currently in Burma with the equipment.</B></div> <div>      </div> <div> <A HREF="id2.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Teams Supported"><U><B>Back to Teams list. </B></U></A><B> </B></div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
